Founded on 14 December 1993 by six local entrepreneurs, the Consortium set out to reclaim and revitalise the coastal area of Sant'Agnello known as Spiaggia Caterina and to make it more accessible to residents. The main goal, however, was to chart a new course: to create a tourist marina with minimal environmental impact, built entirely from easily removable structures.
In 1996 the Consortium obtained a concession over a water surface that now measures about 13,400 m². Two years later, to give users easier access to moored boats, the area was equipped with floating pontoons and an access gangway. Today the concession is fully fitted out, offering around 185 pontoon berths for vessels from 6 m to 16 m.
In 1998 the Consortium submitted a project to the Campania Region for completing the existing breakwater. This triggered a series of interventions, financed by both the Region and the Municipality, that resulted in the modern breakwater we see today.
